Cranial Facial Distortions and Their Impact on Childhood Development

Every parent has hopes and dreams about their baby, and wonders who they will grow up to be, and what they will achieve. What if you could understand the missing link to ensure that your baby had every opportunity for each successive developmental window to be unlocked during their most critical timeframe for brain growth from birth to age two? What if through this new knowledge you could change the destiny of your child’s future so radically that it could mean the difference between them either thriving or surviving in the world? Enter Drs. Rosen and Watson, who offer the first of its kind class for caregivers, parents, and interdisciplinary therapists and professionals to demystify the missing piece to optimal childhood development – the effects of cranial and facial distortions on human potential.

Much has been written about milestones and primitive reflexes and their impact on developmental potential: ADD/ADHD, Autism, developmental delay, dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc. Usually, parents only hear these terms after the concerns they have about their child’s development have fallen upon deaf ears. It is not until the situation becomes obvious that intervention is recommended. Even then, the therapies recommended often do not address the underlying neurology behind these developmental “glitches.” Worse, many well-intentioned professionals call these issues “common,” when they are not normal, and can affect proper neurological development. What often manifests as only mild symptoms early in life, can progress to more severe issues as the child reaches age 4 or 5. Knowing what to look for before the situation or condition escalates is paramount to achieving a more efficient, less stressful (both to the child and family) resolution.

In this online program Drs. Rosen and Watson, along with long-time patient, parent-child coach, and mother of five, Ashley Dalidowitz, will walk you through an understanding of normal childhood growth and development and the structural distortion patterns to look for that may indicate red flags signaling challenges in a child’s development. This course is one of the greatest gifts a caregiver, parent, or grandparent could ever give: a roadmap towards peak potential for neurological growth, development, and life-long success that every child deserves.

Meet the Instructors

Dr. Martin Rosen, DC, CSCP, CSPP & Dr. Nancy Watson, DC, CSP

As early as first quarter in chiropractic school they were attracted to each other’s commitment to chiropractic and the pursuit of excellence.  Their combined 80 years of personal and clinical and teaching experience, in delivering the chiropractic adjustment is unparalleled in the chiropractic profession.  Their international outreach through teaching, writing and lecturing has been a driving force in their personal and professional careers since their first seminar taught together as students, in 1979.

Ashley Dalidowitz

Ashley Dalidowitz is a Boston native and parent-child coach specializing in early childhood development, with a multidisciplinary background in speech-language pathology, literature, and music. A mother of five, Ashley is a strong advocate for the salutogenic model of health and the body’s innate capacity to heal.

Her personal and professional journey has been deeply shaped by chiropractic care, particularly in addressing complex pediatric concerns such as craniofacial distortions, helmet correction, tethered oral tissues (TOTS), tongue-tie revisions, and neurodevelopmental challenges including speech delays, milestone regression, autism spectrum symptoms, and PANS/PANDAS.

Ashley’s primary focus is brain health and the integrative approaches that support optimal nervous system function. Her interests span chiropractic care for the developing brain, music and speech therapy, traditional nutritional therapies, EMDR, and German New Medicine. Her goal in teaching this course and life’s mission is to empower caregivers in building inner trust and confidence as a child’s first teacher and advocate.

She is the founder of Mighty Milestones, a developmental milestone support group for expectant parents, caregivers, and families with children from conception through age three. Based in Arden, NC, the group uses It’s All in the Head by Drs. Rosen and Watson as a guiding resource for early neurodevelopmental care.

Feedback From Our Students

  • Ashley Dalidowitz

I decided to take this course after many years working with developmental professionals from chiropractors to speech therapists, occupational therapists, vision therapists, neurofeedback scientists, early interventionists, nutrition coaches, and special education staff and advocates. Every professional has a different knowledge base which creates gaps in knowledge and educating parents. I wanted to hear Dr. Marty and Dr. Nancy’s take on a very much overlooked foundational piece of the puzzle, and what it means for overarching development of the whole child.

Having taken this program, my three takeaways are:

    1) Physical appearance is often related to functional differences and compensatory patterns, which impact normal development 2) Common is not the same as normal 3) Trust your instincts and get help even if your professional tells you that development seems on track; you are your child’s best advocate and first teacher.

This course put together many pieces of the puzzle for me, connecting physical restrictions with development in the brain, tongue-tie and global effects down the line in development of the face, teeth, jawline, and particular distortions and movement patterns to notice when observing a child.

I was able to speak with confidence to a family who had opted for a helmet for their child, and had not yet not sought chiropractic care at the time. I was able to explain the importance of addressing the compensatory patterns which arise from the torticollis and plagiocephaly, and describe how the sutures experience a lot of tension and force with helmet use. Further, I was able to link these patterns with visible vision and tracking difficulties, as well as other compromised developmental milestones that were easily identifiable by the parents.

Thank you so much for making this course available to the public! I would love to see it featured through PBS, Gaia, and/or mainstream parenting support websites.

In my practice I see a lot of kids in their first few weeks of life and many with breastfeeding problems. I was hoping to gain some tips to better serve my patients.

My biggest take away from this course was to give me better language to help educate the parents of the children I serve so that they better understand the role of chiropractic and cranial adjusting to the overall health of their families’.

This program has helped in terms of being better able to explain my findings and the role of chiropractic and cranial work for the youngest of patients.

I feel that my connection and education has resulted in better relationships with the parents of the children I serve as they are better able to advocate for their children and follow through with home care and keep their appointments. Thank you!

  • Dr. Pamela Stone

I took this program because I want to stay up on cranial work, and continue to learn.

This overall Peak Potential program is furthering my knowledge, expanding my skill, providing more confidence, and allowing me to interact with other professionals better.

This was an introductory class and available for non-DC’s. It still is great to keep this information at the top of your mind.

One child recently came in with severe plagiocephaly, he was headed for a helmet and I started working on him and it improved significantly, very noticeable to the visual eye. He came in last week and had been fitted for a helmet and the doctor told them it may only be one month of wearing it instead of the 6 months they initially thought because his head had improved so much.

Keep doing what you are doing.
