    My three takeaways:
    1) The program was a wake-up call to me regarding. Having been a chiropractor for 30 years only focusing on the spine and ignoring a critical aspect of human dynamics. 2) Prior to this course, I thought I was an above average chiropractor, but this course taught me how little I know about human function. 3) I believe courses like cranial function mechanics should be taught in chiropractic colleges.

This course made me realize how little I understand about biomechanics and human function and the impact of cranial structures with their descending patterns can impact the entire spine and if not addressed, the same patterns repeat themselves and the patients never get better despite what I do as a chiropractor. Personally, knowing this information now makes me feel I have been providing many patients a disservice and motivates me to learn and understand cranial dynamics. So, it was a very enlightened course for me

I have begun using some of these cranial mobilization procedures on post CFR inflation techniques and even though I have not yet been confident and proficient with the procedures, I have found most patients find them very relaxing and ease their anxiety form the CFR procedure

I might not recommend this course to someone who does not have any prior knowledge with cranial work and have them start at the basics. I feel that this was more of an advanced course for me which is why I began to go back to basics and enrolled in the SOT course with you. The certification in CFR, although a profound and effective technique, has only taught me how much I really do not know.

I would like to have some hands-on techniques to practice the mobilization techniques because, although practicing with skull models, I was still unsure I was palpating the correct structures. So, some hands-on training would have been a great compliment. Also, this was the first time I have taken a course like this which delivered course material in a slow drip fashion, so it took a while to get used to the format. I would like to say thank you Dr. Rosen for your phenomenal work and making it available and how you have enlightened me to become a better provider!!

I found this class to be much more in depth than I imagined and was very grateful for it. I found that learning how each cranial bone affects the TMJ in different ways to differentiate the root cause of the TMJ problem to be very helpful. I find most people/practitioners treat all TMJ issues the same for all people so learning how to use clues by observing the patient, what cranial distortions or muscle patterns are found, etc. to determine the best course of action. I also really appreciated the way everything was put together and showed a real time assessment in the last few videos to understand how all of this information would play out with a live patient.

Taking this program has impacted my life professionally because I was able to take bits that I was learning as we went along and bring them immediately to certain patients and became more thorough in their assessment and treatments, which allowed for better results. It has already broadened the way I have been able to help people at work and in my own family and brought in others with similar issues to be helped as well.

In my office, I have a patient who has dealt with chronic TMJ pain for years. Under regular care she had been getting a lot of relief from her symptoms, but this relief would only last so long, maybe a week or up to three weeks at times but it always came back. As I worked through these courses modules, I was able to be more specific in this patients treatment and by addressing the same areas I was but also focusing more on her frontal bone based on the new indicators I learned, she was able to feel much more improvement and her adjustments started to hold better with less symptoms and pain.

Yes, I would recommend this course to anyone who is looking to help with TMJ related issues, and this deepened my understanding of cranial work and its relationship as well. I have already gotten more patients for TMJ specifically because not many other providers in my area even know where to begin when addressing the TMJ and this helped me feel more confident in being able to help fill a need so many patients are looking for.

I just wanted to say thank you for the work that you do and putting these programs out to help other providers. And thank you for reaching out and keeping me on track. This has been a whirlwind of a year for me personally and for my office so trying to keep up with this coursework and learn the most I can from it while dealing with everything I was here was challenging but I appreciated the emails letting me know where I was and what was needed to catch up as necessary.

After taking the Introduction to Chiropractic Cranial Adjusting and Pediatric Certificate program I enjoyed this deeper dive into the evaluation and treatment of TMJ cases in both pediatric and adult patients. The evaluation protocol has been a great addition to my practice, and I made an exam form to follow based on this class. The indicators that are taught to find the cranial area to begin treatment were also very beneficial. Being able to explain how there can be a descending pattern to the pelvis and an ascending pattern to the TMJ has been the most helpful in communicating with those I am correlating with.

The evaluation protocol has allowed me to have more certainty in where to start my treatment with patients with TMD. I have seen quicker results in my patients implementing these techniques. It also gave me certainty that I will have to make a plan to address my own bite/TMD to stabilize my pelvic issues. Much of the information will be beneficial in further communicating the necessity of chiropractic care to the dental, myofunctional, orthodontic and surgical providers in the airway study group I am a member of.

I have been using the information taught as it was released each week throughout the last 10 months. I have had many patients presenting with TMD that was not even the primary concern that brought them to my practice. However, I was amazed at how it was a part of their chronic pelvic dysfunction and low back pain. Quite a few totally oblivious to the level of tension they were also holding in their neck all these years. I have had many kids and adults going through orthodontic treatment that helped adapt to the changes in their bite and kept them more comfortable and functioning better.

This course is a wonderful addition to any doctor’s practice. It is especially beneficial to those wanting to work alongside the orthodontists, dentists, and myofunctional therapists in their community. It helps in communicating the global effect these issues can have.
